Noise pollution has been one of the most common complaints among travellers worldwide for years. Many people are looking for quiet locations, but also for quiet places in busy areas, such as large cities. Under pressure from social media, hotels are looking for methods to make their rooms quieter and more attractive. Until recently, however, there were no usable guidelines in this area. This is changing with the arrival of the Quietroom® label.
The QR label is the first and only objective quality mark in the world for quiet hotel rooms. Hotels that have this label indicate that they meet the QR guidelines and that the hotel rooms are well insulated. These are usually hotels with 4 or more stars. There are now more than 150 hotels in Europe that have the label. The first Quiet Hotel Awards were presented in 2015.
